Please keep killing girls in the womb

Innocent, helpless she was the angel who was only a few years old,
The torture which she had to endure was cruel and cold.
Those eyes which should twinkle with mischief
Now they are closed under the wrap of disbelief.
Those small feet which should walk towards future
They juggled to release from the clutches of a monster
Neither she was wearing short dresses, nor she was smoking and drinking,
Now it would be tough for society to blame her for everything.

Keep killing her in the womb,

Not because she is a girl
but because we have no senses left to consider her equal
Sometimes, I feel I should be sad that I am childless
But then my brain says I should celebrate for being child-free, which is fabulous
I don’t need to worry about the safety of my baby,
Neither I need to protect her from strangers nor her own family.
We protest over masjids or temples,
But we forget to save our ‘creator’- women from troubles.

Keep killing her in the womb,

Not because you think men are superior clearly,
But because if she gets lucky and survives, she would die in flames of dowry.

Keep killing her in the womb,

Not because you don’t respect her,
It’s just because one-time pain is better than living every day in horror

I am a woman who hates PINK and have no intentions to beat any man

I am a woman and let me that only,
Today I tell you what I feel and think about being a woman clearly.
Society used to ask me when will I get married,
In the veil of concern, they ordered me to be hurried.
Now when I am a happily married woman and I have a loving spouse,
I am still waiting to get that ‘trophy’ for obeying the society rules by taking marriage vows.
People said, no matter how high your corporate profile is,
what matters most is how ‘gol’ you can make rotis.
(un) fortunately, while I am good at the office front, the shape of my rotis sometimes get disturbed.
But wait, I am not sad because I enjoy eating my simple sabji & roti even if they are burnt.
People said, now when you are married, it’s time to reach the next stop- motherhood,
Only give birth to a son to take the  ‘vansh’ forward- it is something that they ensure I would.
But I would like to ask them- what if their mother has also thought of the same?
In that case, they wouldn’t have been on this earth to pass comment and call me names.
One of my relatives told me “no use of earning if you don’t have a child on whom you can spend money”,
But here I want to tell her that my money funds my vacation and shopping spree.
But yes, sometimes I face a problem when I need to carry huge shopping bags and take out a house key.
Being a woman, people advise me to go for safer career options like teaching,
So that I can manage my house and continue working.
But again, please don’t get angry if I tell you- As a corporate professional, my timings are not fixed,
However, what remains fixed is- my home is well managed (at least I think so), I cook daily, and I am so quick.
I learnt to cook not just because as a woman it is primal,
I did it because it is necessary for survival.
Don’t measure my existence on the basis of my reproduction ability,
I respect elders and try not to harm others, so start appreciating me for my ‘high values fertility’.

Neither a superwoman nor a brave heart,
I am a simple woman who is both naïve and smart.
cry, I smile, I get angry on things,
but being a human, I don’t think it is a sin.
With no desire to defeat men and go above them,
I am at peace where I am.
To me, men are not the matrix against which my success should be measured.
I am competing only with myself and that’s my success mantra which should be treasured.
I don’t want to be a woman who stands behind a successful man,
The reason is simple-when my success is ‘mine’ only, why should credit be shared by man?
At last, just want to tell you, don’t associate me with PINK anymore,
As an epitome of elegance & strength, I embrace all colours and it makes my personality galore.

#InfertilityNotATaboo : A woman is 'COMPLETE' even if she is not a mother

Though we both were in the same department, I hardly knew much about Shreya, except that she was a 32-year old marketing head. I guess we were so engrossed in our office work that we hardly got a chance to discuss anything beyond files and meetings.
I’d always thought that she had everything: A lucrative corporate job, high salary package, and a handsome husband. Recently, she invited all of us at her new posh home. Everything was perfect, or so I thought so! But something happened one day....
We all were having great fun at the office Diwali party as after all we got a huge bonus and (good) gifts. As I got up to get one more rasgulla, the HR came to announce the three extra Diwali holidays! It was like a bonanza for us and coming from our workaholic and snobby boss, it was unbelievable. I got so excited that I put two extra rasgullas on my plate (or I made people believed that it was “this” reason that I decided to eat more).
I was searching for a chair where I could sit and eat my food peacefully when suddenly I found Shreya standing in a corner. I did not know what made me go there and talk to her, but my feet suddenly started walking towards her. It could because she was the only person in this party who was not happy.
“Hey Shreya, try this rasgulla it so yum”- I wanted to cheer her but what followed next was what I did not expect. She suddenly burst into tears. Startled, I tried to pacify her and took her to a secluded place, and when she felt a little better, she poured her heart out to me.
Everything was fantastic and going great in her life, except for the one thing... she was not getting pregnant.
For me, she was my role model who always had solutions to any business problem. But somehow I did not realise that she was also a normal person, who was married and dealing with the infertility problem like any other lady.
Shreya told me that she and her husband had been trying for a baby for the last one year, but nothing had happened. They also consulted doctors but all in vain. And so, while everything was going well in the life, this thing was certainly not. And this one thing that was what they desired for more than anything else.

Source: pregnancywellnesstips.com/
“I can’t think of anything else, except babies,” she said. “I would be sitting in an office meeting, but I would be thinking about babies only. I remember once I was at a marriage function when one of the guests innocently asked me to suggest some good schools for her kids. As I was so much successful on a professional front, she wanted my ‘expert’ advice and keen to know in which school ‘my child’ goes. But when I told her that I did not have a child she smiled and said, you are so lucky that you don’t have to take such tensions. I gritted my teeth and smiled at her and then came back to home and cried for three hours. I desperately wanted to tell her that these ‘tensions’ I would love to take!”
I felt so bad for her but then suddenly something shook my senses. I unintentionally also did the same with her in the past when I showed some cute girl dresses online and asked her to help me in choosing the one for my daughter. Without any hesitation, she helped me but now I felt how much painful it was for her.
I was taken aback— here I had worked next to this highly successful young woman who was going through a tough time. We’d casually chatted on every topic, and I had this feeling that her life was perfectly normal. But it was not true. Deep down she was feeling miserable and just hiding it well. And then one day when everyone was happy, she could not keep it to herself and poured it out and that too someone who was her junior.
At first, I did not know what to say to her. Ironically, I always found her persona intimidated. Next to such a successful career woman, I always found myself as an ordinary office going mother. Little did I know that it was what I had that she valued the most.
I was travelling in my thoughts, when suddenly Shreya said that her mother-in-law wanted her to take to a pundit to know when she will become pregnant. It was a shock for me. A highly educated girl like Shreya believed in all these things. But why you wanted to go there? And she replied, “I think this pundit will help me.” On prodded further, she said her mother-in-law had threatened her that she would get her son remarried if she doesn't give her 'vaaris'.
I wanted to yell at Shreya and warned her asked this superstitions but I could not mustered the courage to do so. My conscience did not allow me. She was only trying to save her marriage. I was victimised by the same mindset when even after the five years of marriage, I was childless. At that time, my mother-in-law took me to some temple in our village where she asked me to stand in the holy river, behind the temple. It is believed that if you stand there for a night, Devi Maa will bless you with a child. I was standing there helpless throughout the night and praying for a child, while my husband was sitting at home comfortably and watching India and Pakistan match. Ironically, my daughter ‘pari’ came into my life exactly after a year. I knew it was not because of Devi Maa but my mother-in-law was happy as she ‘won’. I did what my mother- in- law asked me to do so now I have no right to say anything to people who believe in these superstitions.
Now I have a girl child, my mother in law wants the next child to be a boy, so she has asked me to keep fasts for this. Also, she has said that when you get pregnant then take this ‘medicine’, which will ensure that your child is a boy.
I did not have words to console Shreya. I wanted to protect her from superstitious beliefs which only make a woman’s life hell, but I was helpless. I just stood up and walked to the gate. But this time, I was not happy. Shreya was much higher than me in the corporate world, but now she will also endure the same pain which I did. Now she will also become the victim of superstitious beliefs. We both were two individuals but somehow victimised by the same mindset according to which a woman, irrespective of her status and education, is considered to be ‘complete’ only when she can become a mother.

It was a blend of reality with imagination but in this story some plots are true.

Is there any IDEAL age to get married?

This was the day which Shivani never wanted to come to an end. She did not want to go back to her sweet home which was used to her abode to get some peace and happiness after a long tiring job. She took an auto outside her office and started her journey towards her home. Delhi- the city which is known for its traffic jam suddenly became less populated. Unlike other days, this time, there was no traffic on the road or may it was what Shivani thought! Though it took 2 hours for her to reach the home, Shivani still thought it’s too early!

Standing on her doorstep, her hands were shivering. She did not want to enter the home as she knew she was bombarded with the same questions which she was facing from the last one week. With a heavy heart, Shivani entered. Her father, who always welcomed her with a big smile, this time, was in an angry mood. While Shivani entered the kitchen to get some water, her mother started yelling and shouting, “Why do you not want to get married?"

Shivani was tired with the same question every day. This time she decided to counter her parents. “Why should I get married, when I don’t want to be”? Her parents were not ready for this reply, and so her father angrily told her, “Next year, I will retire, and you are 26, so this is the right time to get married otherwise soon you will not get any good boy. We will give you so much education and freedom so that you get a well-educated boy, but now you are misusing it”.  Her mother added, “Sharma’s daughter got married last month, she is younger to you.”

Is there any ideal age to get married, when Shivani was about to ask this question, suddenly her mother asked her, “Do you have a boyfriend with whom you want to get married? Listen we will not allow you to marry outside our caste."

These words were enough to shaken Shivani who was working as a manager in an MNC. She always wanted to earn a name for herself in the corporate world, and so she was not ready to take her mother’s words. Tears started rolling on her cheeks when she stood up and left the room and discussion in the mid-way. She came to her room when her father’s words fell on her ears, “Iss ladki ko jayda padaana hi nhi chayihe tha. College khatam hote hi shaadi kar dete to acha tha. Musibat hi khatam ho jati.”

Shivani was in her room when she was thinking, is getting married the only purpose in a girl’s life? All the education which her parents gave her, it was just so that she could get a good groom. Girls should get married below the age of 25 as it is good for her biological cycle- we all heard this thing in our daily lives, but what is the ideal age for a boy? No one dares to ask that!

Shivani wanted to achieve more success in her life but her parent’s words were enough to shatter her. She decided to give up and get married to the boy of her parent’s choice.

This is the real story of one my friends. Many of you would be against Shivani’s decision. Even I was not happy with her when she came to my house to invite me for her wedding. I fought with her and gave all advice which I heard on TV from our ‘women rights activists.” But when Shivani left, I realized how much pressure a girl faced in her life when it comes to her marriage. Sometimes it is the society which again and again advised her to get married as she is getting older day by day and sometimes it is the family, which emotionally blackmails her to get into marriage.

But no one understands that there is no ‘ideal’ age to get married. But yes, there should be an ‘ideal’ person for marriage. Unless and until you don’t find him, don’t get married. Marriage is finding a soul mate that would walk with you through ups and downs of life. But if you succumb to ‘marriage pressure’ and get married just for the heck of it, you will be leaving a life in which you would have a mate but not the soul mate!

To Mom, From Your “Little” (But Now Married) Girl!!!!

Time flies..yes it flies… Earlier it was you mom, who would fed me once I came back from office. Mom I am back, these words were enough to alert you. A hot piping tea with snacks was always there on the table waiting for me and my taste buds. It was a daily routine for you which you ensured that you did it dutifully. Today also I am having a tea but the only difference is that it misses your warmth and love. As now I am married, I really miss ‘that’ tea which is for me the world’s best beverage (at least Now).

Known as a lazy laid at home, I used to wake up at 6.30 in morning as it was my habit to spend over 2 hours in bathing and dressing up myself. I always reached office late and that too when I did not even had to do anything at home. I know Mom, you will be proud to know as I wake up early in morning, make breakfast and also spend lesser time in getting up ready for the office. Only 15 minutes!!!!!

You always made sure that I had my breakfast and lovingly handed over me my lunch and one extra dabba for evening snacks. Today, when every morning I pack two lunches- one for myself and one for hubby, it reminds me of you. Your little girl has now grown up mom, as earlier it was you who was making yummy food without complaining but now it is me who cook simple ghar ka khana for hubby and that too after throwing so much tantrums

When I got engaged, I requested you ‘please mom- teach me some household chores. I even do not know how to use the washing machinge.” And your reply, “Wakeup early on Sunday and will teach you how to operate the washing machine”. In your reign, that ‘Sunday’ never came. You will be amazed to know Mom, n
ow I do all laundry by myself.

You always considered me as a five-year old and that used to irritate me. Now I am missing those moments, pampering and your love.

I know I am someone’s wife and daughter-in-law but deep in my heart I still yearn to be your little girl, Mom

Have You Tried Hair Spa? Go for it in Monsoon!!!

The irritating Monsoon is showing no mercy. Every year during this time, I struggled with rugged hair. However, this year I am not dealing with this problem as my hair is shinning and luscious. Wondering what magic mantra I have found out to keep them beautiful? Then ladies,  answer is- Hair Spa.

With hectic lifestyles, sunlight and pollution, it is important to take a good care of your hair. And what’s better than a good spa?

I personally like hair spa because-
  • It increases the hair growth
  • It is a quick relief from busy lifestyle
  • The mild and shampoo used during spa makes hair shining
  • Hair mask which is applied on hair strands and scalp is a good conditioner. It takes care of all hair woes, including dandruff, hair fall and lots more.
  • Massaging during spa improves blood circulation
  • Hair steaming during spa helps hair regaining the lost moisture

Our hair needs pampering and I love my hair so much that I find hair spa worth it! So head to a salon and indulge into relaxing and amazing hair spa.

If you are soon to be hitched, then hair spa becomes more important for you. Who knows your partner fallen in love with your gorgeous mane!!!

Who Says Shahid Kapoor Can’t Marry a Younger Girl?

“Oh my god Shahid Kapoor is marrying Mira Rajput. Really he has broken my heart,” these words were enough to make me laugh on my elder ‘married’ sister who was never fond of movies (read Bollywood). Just to remind my sister her marital status, I pointed my finger towards a photo frame hanging on the wall, in which she was happily posing with her hubby. J

“Hey dear, there is one common thing between ours and Shahid’s marriage- Like me and my hubby, there is also a huge age gap between Shahid and his fiancée age.” Astonished and enthralled at my sister’s finding, I started thinking why there is so much hullabulla on the age gap of a couple? What is the ideal age gap? Our so called Indian mentality says, a girl should always be younger than her husband both in age and height. But is it a guarantee of a blissful married life? A big NO!!!

To make a marriage work, it is imperative to invest your time and emotions in it. It is crucial that the wavelength of both the partners should be on the same level. Being a girl, I always find matured men attractive. What made me to take my casual dating to the next level, i.e; marriage was the humbleness and caring attitude of my husband. Even my sister’s husband is much younger to her but it is only he who has completely mentored her in every possible way. Be it personal and professional front, there is not even a single field where she doesn’t seek her hubby’s advice. It is all about finding a good partner, irrespective of the age-gap.

Don’t forget, Shahid had a breakup with Kareena Kapoor, who is elder to him. Now he has found a solace in a much younger girl. Age doesn’t have any relevance in making any relationship successful.

Hence Proved!!!!

Let’s beat the heat!

The scorching heat must have turmoil on you and your health. But let’s beat the heat with panache! Lets undiscovered some great ways to keep body fit and hale-
·         Don’t act like a lazy bee- Make it a habit to go for a run every morning. I know you are a super busy guy and in today’s fast running life, it is daunting to take out some time for running. But by making small but inevitable changes to your routine, you can make running an imperative part of your life. Make sure that you always run to the nearby metro station or park your car a little away from your workplace so that you walk towards it. It is advised to take stairs instead of lift.
·        Keep a watch on your driving posture- In order to avoid backache problem due to long hours of travelling, you should diligently follow the rules of sitting with your hips and make sure that your chest is parallel to steering wheels, while driving the car.
·        Rigorous work out- Surely, you don’t want that belly to make its way which is caused due to sedentary jobs. So it is best to do some light exercises which you should do at your office also. Sit straight and try to stretch your legs with toes facing upward. Now you should try to raise them to the angle of 30 & 40 and slowly put them below without touching the ground. Now you need to repeat the same exercise for 15-20 times. Apart from strengthen your back; this will also keep your belly in.
·        Follow right diet plan- In order to keep yourself active and healthy, opt for fresh fruits and juices during the day. Keep fried and fat fattening food at bay. Choose low carb food like salads.

4 ways to balance office-home life

Let's unveil some great ideas that can help you in striking a seemingly impossible balance between office and home life-

Don't over prioritize your office work- You can't always choose work over your family. There may be a time when taking your wife to a nearby grocery shop is more important than completing the presentation. There is no need to stress either about your personal or professional lives. Though your earning decides your shopping budget, you should always remember, “Money can buy materialistic things but the smile which comes on the face of your dear ones when you spend time with them, is completely fabulous.

There is no set time or day to unwind yourself- From whom you have heard the rule that you need to wait for an entire week to chill with friends? Oh common, you can spruce up any day of your life. Just call your friends on any weekday or perhaps on an easier day when there is less work pressure. Chat, drink and de- stress. You'll find yourself in a much calmer and nicer space to go home and face next day's office work. Also when you meet friends in the middle of the week without any planning, life becomes more exciting.

Prioritize your needs- “I can't be perfect after all I am not a superman/superwoman”, say this line three times a day, and you will find your life easy and calm. In trying to be best in every situation, we forget that life is beyond that. It's ok if you want to go out to meet your friends, leaving behind husband or kids at home. Make life simple by not complicating it too much with your set criteria.

Stop worrying about every crisis- The unpredictability of life makes it more beautiful. Treat deadlines and home work just the way they are regular. Being exceptionally organized may be required, but it is not desirable. So never try so hard. Do what you can do to the best of your capability and even if you fail, don't fret!

Romantic things that husbands do unknowingly!

Those who thing women are tough to please, think again. You don't need to buy costly gifts to pamper your ladylove. In fact, small gestures like hug, smile, kiss are enough to bring a smile on her face. Shocked? Don't be! For women, romance is not confined only to red roses, diamond jewelery or candle-light dinner. Love is something which is more than that. It can be anything from simple praise words to helping her in the kitchen. So, let's find out what more you can do to make her feel special-

Unanticipated hugs- That sudden hug you give her when she is cooking in kitchen or busy ready something or any other time, sways her away. In fact, whenever you give a morning kiss on her forehead when she is half sleeping, it gives a good start to her day.

Helping in kitchen- Now, it has been proved. Those men who help their partners in kitchen are considered to be more sexy. Women known that men usually don't like to work in kitchen and therefore, when they see you right next to them in the kitchen, doing dishes, preparing salads, chopping vegetables, their heart seems to brim with happiness and joy. This gesture is so endearing that they fall head over heels in love all over again.

Making the bed- This is something that she can expect from you. After hectic office schedule, household chores and the kids, she is exhausted, after all she is also a human being like you and not a machine! So, when she finds that the bed is all done and tidied, ready to snuggle in the neatly laid bed sheets, her joy sees no limit.

Helping kids in their studies- Those who have created the character of a superman must be suffered from a 'dangerous manly syndrome'. After all, all the hard works a woman put can even put a superman to a shame! Therefore, when you look after the kids, help them in their homework and school projects and read bedtime stories, you not only become the world's most favorite father but also earn brownie points in the eyes of your wife.

Accompany her to a shopping- Yes, women love the idea of spending their spouse money on her favorite shoes, dresses (with pun intended!) but she enjoys more when you accompany her to a shopping. It need not to be for costly dress, just notice the smile and sparkle in her eyes when you join her even for the household shopping. And in a shopping store, when you unexpectedly hold her hand, love hormones suddenly shoot up!

Complement your wife- 'My wife is a good homemaker', 'My wife is very supportive', 'She has well adjusted in my home', when you give these complements to her in front of family and friends, she feels proud that you value and respect what she does for you.

Taking care of her when she is unwell- Those times when she is unwell and you take leave from the office to take care of her, she feels blessed. When you remember every medicine of hers, 'order' her to take rest, cook meal and simply sit besides her & taking her hands in yours, she finds it good to fall ill!

Arranged Marriage-Refrain from asking 5 Questions In The First Meeting

Undoubtedly, arranged marriages are not an easy thing to start with. The first meeting is the series of awkward meeting, expressions, shyness and silence. You can never be sure what to say and what to underplay in your conversations with the other party. The entire process becomes uncontrollable when one party asks irrelevant questions. To save you from this trouble, we have listed down 5 questions which you should never ask in the first meeting if you are going for an arranged marriage-

What is your salary? We all have heard this, 'Never ask a woman her age and the man his salary'. However, there is a twist in the story. Even guys should understand that working women would not like the idea of telling their salary at first meeting. The question makes sense that you give more priority to money.

Did you have any past relation? Many people ask this question in the hope of getting 'No' reply. Though, honesty is the prime ingredient of a successful relationship but such personal question should be left for the time when you both become more familiar and comfortable in each others company.

What is your monthly expenses? Being financially safe is indispensable but asking this question out rightly at a first meeting is completely no-no. If the answer of this question really matters to you then you should rephrase it in a much better way. Like ask about his/her hobbies or likes/dislikes as this will give you an idea about their lifestyle.

How many guys or girls have you rejected till now? Just because you are becoming conscious and little bit scary, it doesn't mean that you will start asking absolutely irrelevant questions. If a person is going for an arranged marriage then obviously they would have met quite a few people before meeting you and may meet some more even after you. So, never ask this question as this has good chances of getting backfired.

Will you cook everyday? Are you looking for a spouse or a cook? You are here to understand the person in a better way and not to discuss the household chores. It is really demeaning to ask the question to a woman. Especially for a working woman, it is not possible to come back home after work and then cook. If you yourself can't cook after returning back from office then you should not expect it from the other person.

When you ask wrong question then you end up making a fool of yourself only. So it is best to refrain yourself from asking inconsequential questions and ensure that you find a prospective partner.

Keep Saying “I Love You” to your partner for a happy marriage

The study conducted by OnePoll.com has revealed that kissing and telling your partner "I love you" ten times a week is the secret mantra of a happy marriage.

The survey results also say that having three arguments a month also strengthens the relation and more importantly, a couple must be able to say sorry and couples should be able to each other's mistakes. Also, in perfect marriage, couples make love three times a week and spend seven nights a month cuddled up in front of the television.
Getting married is not a daunting task but it takes a lot of commitment and efforts to keep your marriage a perfect one. If two people are not ready to accept each other unconditionally, they will surely find it difficult to keep their marriage life long lasting.

Make the “Valentine week” special....

Finally it has arrived! The year long wait for the love bugs is now over with the onset of Valentine week. Every day of the week gives you ample of reasons to celebrate love and togetherness. So, capitalize the most of it and acknowledge your love for your beloved. If you curious to know how to make tickle the love bone of your beloved, you have certainly landed on the right page. Let's take it step by step and know how to commemorate every day of the love week-

February 7- Rose Day
The great symbol of love, a red rose, is perfect to kick start the Valentine week. Take a beautiful bouquet of roses to make your beloved feel special. If you have some budget constraints, just one red rose is more than enough to convey your feelings and emotions, which even costliest items would not be able to do so. Even if you want to drop a hint to someone whom you have just met or want to pamper your beloved with a special gesture, this is the best day to do so.

February 8- Propose Day
Yes, this is the awesome day to confess your feelings for your sweetheart. I personally like this day, because if the fire is same on both sides, you will get a warm answer, but if there is only one side love, the other person will never scold you. After all it is a propose day! But wait a minute, who says it is a day meant for unmarried people. Even if you are married, you can relive 'those' special moments by again proposing your spouse for marriage. Married couples can renew their vows. If you cannot think of anything else, go for the romantic candle-light dinner date.

February 9- Chocolate Day
Chocolates add more love to the already 'sugary' relationship. Rather than gifting a box of chocolates, try to bake a chocolate cake for your beloved. (Believe me, blending of love and chocolate is indeed a sinful combination, and rapture on each other and not just your chocolate cake)

February 10- Teddy Day
Though, some may find it cliched, but a sweet teddy bear is an impeccable gift to cuddle onto whenever you will miss your beloved. This gift can live with you in your room and can always remind you of that 'special' person you have in your life. Reignite your marriage even after parenthood

It's now easy to keep the spark alive in your relation even after becoming parents. Read in to know how

Well we agree it's not an easy task to keep the chemistry going once there's is the pit-a-pat of a little angel's feet in the house. There's chores to be attended to, dishes to be washed, food to be cooked and sleep to catch up. And this 'vicious' cycle begins all over again. But even in amidst of 'so many' work to be attended, being man and woman is not altogether impossible either. Your child is the culmination of your love so why should you make him a reason of losing passion and sheen in your relation? Read on to know how to revive your love even after enjoying parenthood.

Love at the doorstep- You are back after a long tiring day and your toddler is eagerly waiting at the doorstep to get in your arms. Many relationship experts opine that a healthy bond between mom and dad is the foundation stone of a peaceful home and that too starts at the entrance gate. Sweep your child in your arm and head straight to your spouse and land a peck on his/her cheek. This will silently convey to your partner that he/she is still your top priority. Plus, your child will glow in the love that you both will share.

Again become a couple- The sudden realization of parenting often becomes a burden and leaves you too tired to share anything more than a hug by the end of the day. But it is crucial to re-ignite your love so keep up the flirt quotient high throughout the day. The gentle touch, kiss/hug or caress on the neck won't only keep the spark of romance alive but will also tell your kids that marriage isn't not only about responsibilities.
Relax- True, he put dirty socks on the bed and she didn't remember to turn off the gas. But is shouting about every little oversight going to work for you? Learn when should you let go off things. There are more bigger (when I am saying bigger, believe me its really bigger) things to take care of. Let the dishes be tomorrow’s problem. Whenever, you fume with anger, think for a minute; will this really matter two years down the line? If the answer comes negative, you know it is good to stop now.

Catch up your old time- Remember the old friends you used to have or those favorite hangouts. Your friends may be waiting to hear from you (probably not the new thing your kid learnt). Catch a movie or revisit your favorite place again. Take up a class you always wanted to and also encourage your partner to do the same. Work around each others time. Believe me when you will pamper yourself, you will rediscover yourself and that will make you more lovable!

Woes of the newly married women!

There is nothing more beautiful than being able to spend the rest of your life with the person you find truly compatible. However, marriage is no longer remains the sole aim of a girl's aim. Gone are those days when parents wanted their daughters to get married by the age of 20-22 years and mouled herself according to her in laws lifestyle.

Of late, things like high education, financial stability, career prospects, etc., are also enjoying the prime importance on the priorities list of a woman. Although, these changes have made contemporary women independent but sadly, it is still not a change that is readily accepted in a traditional family.

Lets' delve deep into some impending problems that a new bride faces in today's scenario

Getting no time to learn or improve culinary skills- Yes, it is true because I can also relate myself to this situation as even after years of marriage, I am still learning how to cook food. No matter how modern a family claims to be, they always want their daughter in law to show her cooking expertise. Even Aishwarya Rai cooked halwa for her in laws after her marriage! But nowadays, as girls are getting busier in their academic and professional lives, they hardly get time to work on their culinary. Lack of culinary skills is one of the biggest (or I should say, dangerous) challenges that a woman can face. I still forget what spices I need to add in which dal or sabji. Though, many households hire help in the kitchen but they still hold high expectations from their daughter in law. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen only in joint families. Even in nuclear families, husband wants their wife to cook at least some times, not every second day.

Making adjustments with in-laws- Though marriage demands lot of adjustments but if you get married into a conventional family, even the self-dependent and headstrong woman in you might fight it difficult to compromise on new family's lifestyle. Especially your food habits, your clothing style, your work timings and many other things, you may find daunting to change to match your in-laws preferences. No matter how understanding your in-laws are, there can still be some things that they want you to change. So be ready for that!

Infringement of personal space- As soon as you change from Miss to Mrs, you will feel the burden of responsibility of every family member as well as your husband. Whether you are in a joint family or nuclear family, you might have to visit your in-laws frequently or they recurring visit you. The sudden realization of responsibilities after spending years under the protective shelter of your parents can be little intimidating. Juggling your personal life with professional commitments can leave you with no 'me' time.

Expectations..expectations and expectations- It is true but the expectations your better half and your in-laws might have from you can be really scary. If you panic, it can adversely affect your married life. There are some particular expectations also which are specific to every house. Like, keeping fasts,
doing puja in different manner, etc. Though look like routine, but they might come as unpleasant surprises for some girls.

In case you are also facing any of the above listed problems, it is best to stay calm and talk to your in-laws. A good discussion can resolve even the most trickiest problem!
